About the Club

Relatively young for a UK university team Halcyon is now entering its 6th year and going strong on both competitive and social fronts. Last year saw the largest ever intake of new players, our most successful womens season yet and another good haul of BUCS points for the boys. To see our past results click here. Halcyon firsts and seconds

After the fun and games of the first few weeks are over the more competitive players among us settle down to the difficult task of winning some silverware! High level training and fitness sessions will start early in the year (don't worry, they aren't compulsory!) in preparation for regional and national tournaments.

Competitive ultimate requires excellent fitness levels so we are looking to recruit athletic players regardless of skill or experience of the game. Beginners often get into first and second teams so if competitive sports are what you're after you've come to the right place. First team practice will be by invitation only but contact Avi Walerius, Jake Aspin or Emma Parle(if you are a woman) if you want to join in fitness sessions with the team.

Socials

If Kid Cudi is to be believed then it’s all bout dem memories. That’s certainly true with Halcyon.

The reason why people join Halcyon is because of those amazing nights out and trips abroad you get with the club. Come on a night out with us, or tour with us to France and Italy, and you’ll not only have some of the best nights of your life but you’ll share them with people who’ll become your best friends. Surprisingly, for a sport which aims at running after flying discs, Halcyon members often end up with a ball and chain at the Club!

Socials are the most important part of Halcyon life: Fact! Socials are our religion and the AU social is our God. We also tap up Pout, da BOP and basically any other chance of getting out there.
