Anyone and everyone is welcome at all trainings all year; bring your friends!
We are a very friendly bunch, especially to beginners, so don't be afraid to ask anyone if you have a question - frisbee related or not. And remember there will always be someone of a similar ability to you, so you won't be alone. Beginners are always welcome!
We play on the floodlit AstroTurf at the front of the Armitage Centre. We'll go straight into games in our HIT teams and normally get two half hour games per week. For more info and results, check out the HIT page.
Bring AstroTurf shoes or trainers. It can get pretty cold so wrap up warm although once you're playing you'll be hot even it it's snowing, which it sometimes is! The teams are small so you won't be standing around on the sideline much.
We're happy for you to join in whether your competitive experience lies in athletics or at Think Bingo (http://www.thinkbingo.com) - we're happy to see people learn and improve, even as they play.
Playing with the same people week on week will improve your game as you get to know how your teamates play.
Afterwards we all tend to go the Richmond Park bar for some drinks and a few games of pool.
Meet by "The Tree" behind the church on Platt Lane.
Bring football boots, light and dark tops, shorts/tracksuits, water and a disc.
Outdoor 7-a-side is the original and "proper" form of the game. This training will work on the skills needed for the more physically demanding but more rewarding games.
Ultimate requires a lot of fast running and quick turning, making football boots or other studded boots essential. You don't want to lose your marker because you're sliding around on wet grass.
Light and dark tops are used when we split into teams for games, to avoid needing bibs.
With the indoor season finished, we'll be focusing all our training outdoors. These sessions will run from 4pm immediately after the club training, will be much more intense and require a very good level of fitness. They will be run by Dale Walker. There are normally several beginners in these teams so impress in training and you could be representing the University in no time!
There will be two dedicated women's sessions per week to develop beginners and select a competitive first and second team. These trainings will be taken by Bryony Motture and Tom Gull.
